In Jan 2023 Villa College established Health Care Services (VC/REC/2023/06), accessible to both students and staff of Villa College and Villa International High School. This initiative underscores our commitment to fostering a healthy learning and working environment, ensuring that students and staff receive the support they need to thrive.
The Health Care Services, managed by the Faculty of Health Sciences (FHS) in collaboration with Villa International High School’s Health Assistant, provide free-of-charge access to a range of essential health services. These include educational resources and guidance on important health topics, including sexual and reproductive health, hygiene, nutrition, family planning, and reproductive health care. Additionally, the service supports physical well-being through programs on sports, exercise, and healthy aging.
We encourage all students and staff to take advantage of these resources, which are designed to promote overall health and well-being. As part of this commitment, the Health Care Services unit has organized several key activities to support the health and well-being of our community:
On December 12, 2023, the Faculty of Health Sciences at Villa College conducted a comprehensive Health Screening Program, which provided free vital health assessments to students, faculty, and staff.
On December 15, 2023, Villa College opened its doors for a memorable Open Day, inviting prospective students, families, and the community to explore the vibrant world of higher education. The Health Screening and Reproductive Health Information Counter placed in the event focused on ensuring healthy lives and promoting well-being for all ages. This counter offered free health screenings and reproductive health information, giving the community access to valuable health resources that may otherwise be inaccessible.
On 10th Nov 2023, Psychology Association of Villa College participated in the Open Day for Mental Health Awareness organised by the Ministry of Youth held at Social Center. This event was held to create awareness about mental health and guide people to get appropriate help during difficult times.
On 25th May 2023, Villa College in collaboration with Hulhumalé Hospital conducted an ‘Eye Screen Day’ for Villa College & Villa International High School staff at the Villa College QI campus. For this event, staff from Hulhumale’ Hospital alongside doctors and equipment from China, gave free eye consultations for more than 100 participants.
In alignment with SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being, Villa College is dedicated to fostering a supportive, healthy environment for all students and staff. To achieve this, the college has established a robust framework of policies designed to promote mental health and overall well-being.
Villa College’s Health Care Services reflect our dedication to providing an inclusive and supportive campus environment, empowering our community with vital information and services for maintaining a balanced and healthy life.
