I am Aminath Samaa, currently in the last semester of the Bachelor of Interior Architecture and Design program at Villa College. I am proud to say that I am among the first batch of students to embark on this exciting journey at Villa College.

My decision to choose Villa College was driven by the quality of education they deliver. I believe that this is the best college in the Maldives to offer such a program. The positive feedback I received from others about similar programs available in the Maldives further solidified my choice. Villa College stood out because of its reputation for excellence and the success of its graduates.

The Interior Architecture and Design program at Villa College was exactly what I was searching for. The positive reviews from Villa College graduates played a significant role in my decision. While there are similar programs available in the Maldives, the positive feedback about Villa College and the less favourable feedback about other institutions made my choice clear.

When I first arrived at Villa College, I was greeted by a vibrant environment. I felt a mix of excitement and nervousness—excited to start a new chapter in my education and meet new people, but also a bit anxious about the challenges ahead. I was hopeful about the opportunities for growth and learning that lay ahead, particularly in my field of Interior Architecture and Design.

The quality of education and opportunities at Villa College is commendable. The guidance, extreme support, and passion of the faculty have been the most notable aspects of my college experience. As part of the first batch of students in this program, we faced initial challenges, but everything was overcome within a year thanks to the dedication of our faculty.

The campus at Villa College fosters a positive atmosphere for learning. There is a strong sense of community among students and staff, which encourages collaboration and mutual support. Initially, we faced challenges with limited facilities, having only one studio. However, we now have three studios, including a modelling room and a drawing room. The computer labs are equipped with the necessary software for our program. The presence of benches with plants around and a lounge area enhances the overall atmosphere. The college’s facilities are good and continue to improve. The online library resource is particularly fascinating. For our specific needs, the design studios are the most relevant and essential.

Attending Villa College has significantly contributed to my personal growth. It has enhanced my critical thinking abilities, expanded my knowledge base, and equipped me with practical skills essential for my career. Working in groups and dealing with different kinds of students, especially while creating large models of buildings, has been challenging but worthwhile. My presentation skills have improved year by year, and my research skills have developed as I identify problems in the field and seek solutions.

One of the most impactful experiences during my time at Villa College was participating in the 7th Global Competition Design for Future Education. Although my team did not receive an award, the support and guidance we received from the faculty were exceptional. They were deeply involved in mentoring us throughout the competition, providing valuable insights and encouragement. This experience not only challenged my team to think creatively and strategically but also strengthened our teamwork and problem-solving skills. I learned the value of dedication and perseverance, using every failure as motivation on my path to success.

I would highly recommend Villa College to prospective students interested in Interior Architecture and Design. The quality education, supportive faculty, and numerous opportunities offered make it an excellent choice for anyone passionate about this field.

Overall, my experience at Villa College has been enriching and fulfilling. The faculty's guidance has been invaluable, helping me develop essential skills for my future career aspirations. Additionally, I have gained lifelong friendships and cherished memories during my time here. Villa College has truly prepared me well for the future, and I am grateful for the journey I have had.
