About

The Villa College Law Society (VCLS) is an elected student body comprising law students from Villa College, and it is affiliated with the Faculty of Shariah and Law. The primary objective of VCLS is to participate in global networking events, provide experiential learning opportunities, promote pro-bono work, and host academic events.

The VCLS has various clubs, including Mooting, Trial Advocacy and Arbitration, Street Law Inc., Pro Bono Law Clinic, and Academic Events Club, catering to diverse interests of law students. These clubs offer various activities such as legal research, mock trials, client counselling sessions, community outreach programs, and guest lectures by legal experts, to enhance the practical and theoretical skills of the members.

Objectives

Aims & Objectives

To enrich the law student’s experience throughout their academic curriculum and to function as a tethering-spot as a primary society for FSL alumni and our student-base at FSL, Villa College.

To develop graduation skills, adaptations and attributes that are key essential for a healthy and prosperous legal career.

To improve the overall employability of students through quality and reasonable internships and placement efforts.

To organise workshops, national and international competitions, training boot-camps and webinars to help develop our student’s practical legal skills

To work on collaborations with the best of career development organisations to provide useful advice, tips, connections, and resources.

To stabilize our alumni base establishing a closed-circuit network.

To build a globalized network for our student-base, connecting them to national and international opportunities concerning their law career.

To raise legal awareness within the society about the contemporary issues concerning societal contribution and participation.

To foster and enable a culture of pro-bono legal work within the law community from law practitioners to law students, extending assistance to those who need but cannot afford legal aid.

To build a group of individuals who are willing to be involved in providing legal support and volunteering work for important causes

To develop competencies including variety of skills as well as capabilities to provide services to the community.
