At Villa College, we firmly believe in the power of giving back to the community. Numerous volunteering opportunities for both students and staff, from organizing blood donation drives to fundraising events for the less fortunate, we actively engage in activities that make a positive impact on society. We also extend our support to schools by offering professional development programs and resources.
We are the first institute to offer parenting sessions for parents with school-aged children. We recognize the crucial role parents play in their children's development and well-being. These sessions focus on promoting active parenting, providing valuable guidance and support to parents as they navigate the challenges and joys of raising their children
Volunteering at Guradhaidhoo Marukazu, a facility for special needs individuals, is an enriching experience that allows our volunteers to contribute their time and skills to make a difference in the lives of others. Moreover, we conduct legal awareness sessions in schools and the public to promote legal literacy and empower individuals with knowledge.
At Villa College, we encourage our staff and students to volunteer in their personal capacity as well, fostering a culture of compassion and community engagement. Together, we strive to create a better world through our collective efforts and heartfelt dedication.
Environment Day Cleaning Program at Laamu Gan
The Environment Day Cleaning Program at Laamu Gan was organized by the L. Gan Women Development Committee on June 5th, 2022. The event took place in the scenic location of L. Gan, emphasizing the importance of environmental conservation and cleanliness. Participants actively engaged in various cleaning activities, including picking up litter, clearing debris, and tidying up public areas. The program aimed to raise awareness about the significance of maintaining a clean and healthy environment. Volunteers from the community and local organizations actively contributed their time and efforts to make a positive impact on the island. The event fostered a sense of unity and collective responsibility towards preserving the natural beauty of L. Gan. The major focus of the event was to clean and preserve the protected area called "Pareefenganda" while promoting the theme of "zero plastic." Volunteers from the local community, along with members of the Maldives Heritage Society, gathered to actively participate in the cleaning activities. The program aimed to raise awareness about the detrimental effects of plastic pollution on the environment and marine life. Participants enthusiastically worked together to remove litter, specifically targeting plastic waste from the protected area. By emphasizing the theme of "zero plastic," the program aimed to promote sustainable practices and encourage the use of eco-friendly alternatives to plastic. Tree Donation
The Tree Donation event, organized by Villa College Lam Gan Campus, took place from 2022 to 2023 on various occasions at VC Lam Gan Campus. The major focus of this is to promote the growth of trees and plants within the campus and extend the donation of plants to schools and other institutions. Villa College Lam Gan Campus recognized the importance of green spaces and the positive impact of trees and plants on the environment and well-being. As part of their commitment to sustainability and environmental stewardship, the campus actively engaged in tree planting initiatives within their premises. Students, staff, and volunteers participated in the process of nurturing and caring for the newly planted trees and plants. Furthermore, Villa College Lam Gan Campus extended its efforts beyond its own premises by donating plants to schools and other institutions. This initiative aimed to encourage the integration of greenery in various educational and public spaces, promoting a healthier and more vibrant environment. Lhaviyani Turtle Festivals
The Lhaviyani Turtle Festival, organized by Naifaru Juvenile and Atoll Marine Conservation, took place on 27th August 2022 in the picturesque location of L. Naifaru. This festival aimed to raise awareness about the conservation of turtles and promote their protection in the region. The event brought together individuals, organizations, and community members who share a common interest in marine conservation. Various activities and programs were organized to educate attendees about the importance of turtles in the marine ecosystem and the threats they face. The Lhaviyani Turtle Festival included informative talks and presentations by marine biologists and conservation experts. Participants had the opportunity to learn about the life cycle of turtles, their nesting habits, and the challenges they encounter during their journey from hatchlings to adults. The festival also featured interactive exhibits, including displays of turtle artifacts, educational materials, and engaging games for children and adults alike. Villa College took active participation in the Lhaviyani Turtle Festival organized by Naifaru Juvenile and Atoll Marine Conservation. Family Evening
The Family Evening event, organized by the Addu City Council in collaboration with various stakeholders in Addu City, was a vibrant celebration held at Addu City Square on 10th May 2023. This event coincided with World Children's Day, aiming to create a joyful and engaging atmosphere for families and children. Villa College Hithadhoo Campus actively participated in the Family Evening event, setting up a dedicated stall. At the Villa College stall, visitors were invited to take part in engaging games and activities centered around Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 6: Clean Water and Sanitation, and SDG 13: Climate Action. Through these games, Villa College aimed to raise awareness among children and families about the importance of clean water, environmental sustainability, and the need for climate action. The activities at the stall provided an opportunity for participants to learn and have fun while understanding the significance of these global goals. Villa College's involvement in the Family Evening event showcased its commitment to community engagement and its dedication to promoting the United Nations' SDGs. Humanity Run
The Humanity Run, an annual event organized by the Maldivian Red Crescent (MRC), took place on 19th August 2022 in Hithadhoo. Villa College Hithadhoo Campus proudly participated as a sponsor in this meaningful event, demonstrating its commitment to social causes and community engagement. The main focus of the Humanity Run was to raise awareness and take action against the use of single-use plastic bags and bottles. Each participant in the run was provided with a free bag and a bottle, encouraging them to adopt more sustainable practices in their daily lives. By supporting this initiative, Villa College Hithadhoo Campus played an active role in promoting environmental consciousness and contributing to the reduction of plastic waste. Notably, the event was graced by the presence of Dr. Aishath Nasheedha, a distinguished individual who served as the chief guest. Ms. Aminath Azra, along with the dedicated staff members of Villa College Hithadhoo Campus, also participated enthusiastically in the run, showcasing their solidarity with the cause. Climate Assembly- Addu City
The Climate Assembly, organized by ECO CARE MALDIVES, took place from 16th to 18th February 2023 in Hithadhoo. This assembly was a part of a larger project aimed at addressing the implications of climate change and fostering discussions among people from diverse backgrounds and islands. The objective of the Climate Assembly was to bring together individuals with different perspectives to learn, discuss, and make recommendations on actions to address climate change. Participants engaged in fruitful discussions, sharing their insights and knowledge to formulate recommendations that will contribute to the National Citizen's Manifesto on Environment and Climate Action. As a prominent figure in the field, Dr. Ahmed Anwar, the Rector of Villa College, graced the event as the Chief Guest. In his address, Dr. Anwar emphasized the importance of addressing climate change and highlighted Villa College's initiatives and projects related to this global issue. His presence and words of wisdom added significance to the assembly, inspiring participants to take proactive steps towards climate action. The Climate Assembly provided a platform for citizens to voice their concerns, ideas, and recommendations on environment and climate-related issues. By actively participating in this event, Villa College reaffirmed its commitment to environmental sustainability and demonstrated its dedication to finding innovative solutions to mitigate the effects of climate change. The Climate Assembly, organized by ECO CARE MALDIVES, brought together a diverse group of individuals to collectively address climate change challenges. World Cleanup Day Program
Villa College Maldives Campus (VCMC) actively participated in two island cleaning programs organised by Mahibadhoo Council. These programs were conducted on the occasion of World Cleanup Day and Independence Day, and they aimed to promote cleanliness and environmental awareness. Various government offices, clubs, and NGOs joined hands in these events to contribute to the community's well-being. In addition to the island cleaning programs, VCMC also took part in the Land Use Plan and Waste Management program. This initiative focused on developing sustainable land use practices and efficient waste management strategies. By participating in this program, VCMC demonstrated its commitment to environmental stewardship and actively contributed to the overall improvement of the island's infrastructure and sustainability. Through these participations, VCMC showcased its dedication to community engagement, environmental conservation, and the promotion of responsible citizenship. By joining forces with other stakeholders, VCMC played an integral role in fostering a cleaner and more sustainable environment for the residents of Mahibadhoo.
Gift distribution event on Eid Al Adha 2023.
Villa College Business Society in collaboration with Faculty of Business Management of Villa College successfully conducted a gift distribution event on the occasion of Eid Al Adha 2023. The gift distribution event was held after the Eid prayers near the King Salman Mosque area, where volunteers of Villa College Business Society actively participated in distributing gifts to the general public. Vice President of Villa College Business Society, Ahmed Uwais Mohamed stated that the purpose of hosting such an event is to revive the tradition of distributing gifts among Maldivians on special occasions such as Eid and to encourage unity among one another. General Secretary of Villa College Business Society, Aminath Sana Ali stated that gifts were distributed to more than 200 people from different ages. She also thanked the Villa College management for their support and all staff and volunteers involved in making this event a success. Villa College Business Society highlighted that they received a huge support from the public for this event.

Donates masks to city and atoll councils
Villa College has donated 20,000 masks to city and atoll councils of islands where Villa College campuses are located at. The masks were donated in special ceremonies held in the respective islands on 14th June 2021. Villa College campuses are located in H.Dh. Kulhudhuffushi, Sh. Funadhoo (Lakeside Campus), Lh. Naifaru, A.Dh. Mahibadhoo, L. Gan and S. Hithadhoo. The masks were donated by Villa College in order to assist the councils in effectively dealing with the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Villa College is the largest private higher education institute in the Maldives and has campuses across the country.

Villa College Marks 16th Anniversary with Blood Donation Drive
In celebration of Villa College's 16th Anniversary, we organized a Blood Donation Drive on the 16th of October 2023. Staff and students of Villa College volunteered in this event. This event was conducted in collaboration with the Maldives Blood Service and the numerous associations of Villa College including: 1. Villa College Student Association 2. Law Society of Villa College The blood donation drive aimed to promote community engagement and social responsibility within the Villa College community. Villa College Business Society Participates In The Pink Ribbon Run-Walk 2023 Hosted By Cancer Society Of Maldives
The Villa College Business Society (VCBS) participated in the annual Pink Ribbon Run-Walk hosted in collaboration with the Bank of Maldives and the Cancer Society of Maldives. The run was held on 14th October 2023 at 4 PM, at Central Park, Hulhumale', with First Lady of the Maldives Fazna Ahmed gracing the event as one of the participants, along with children, youth and elderly people for a 2.5 km run/walk. Dean of Faculty of Business Management of Villa College Mr. Abdulla Nafiz stated the importance of engaging with the community. “ We encourage our students to participate in the community events and take part in volunteering. This is part of building well rounded, capable, caring graduates who will serve not just the country, but the world with a sense of purpose and make a positive difference” – Abdulla Nafiz – Dean of FBM, Villa College The Vice President of Villa College Mr. Ahmed Uwais Mohamed congratulated the Cancer Society of Maldives for conducting such a successful and vibrant event and encouraged more youth to participate and engage in social welfare events. The Pink Ribbon Run is an annual event held starting from the year 2013, to create awareness of breast cancer and to raise donations for the cause. This year’s event displayed a Zumba session, music show and stalls from event partners to create awareness and raise donations through sale of t-shirts and other merchandise.
