The Faculty of Shariah and Law (FSL) at Villa College recently organized a legal aid training session in collaboration with Transparency Maldives, aimed at preparing student lawyers under the Student Lawyer Project of UWE LLB for an upcoming Legal Aid Camp for migrant workers at Artificial Beach.
Under the mentorship of Uza. Alsan Sadiq, Legal Coordinator at Transparency Maldives, and facilitated by Mr. Amish Abdullah, the session equipped students with hands-on training in legal counseling, client interviewing, and rights advocacy tailored specifically for migrant worker issues.
Students also engaged in case studies and role-play exercises, deepening their understanding of the unique legal needs and challenges faced by migrant communities in the Maldives.
This collaborative training empowers future legal professionals to provide impactful assistance and uphold the rights of vulnerable populations.
