NEW VILLA COLLEGE ALUMNI ASSOCIATION EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE OFFICIALLY INAUGURATED

The new steering committee of the VC Alumni Association was officially inaugurated in a special ceremony held online today (21st June 2021, Sunday). The new exco will have a term of two years, from June 2021 to June 2023. Members selected for the Alumni Association Executive Committee are:President, Azra NaseemVice President, Fathmath ThaufeeqTreasurer, Ibrahim RasheedGeneral Secretary, Aishath RanaCommunity and Student Engagement Director, Adam ShamoonDirector of Alumni, Aishath Shizna In the inauguration ceremony, Vice Rector, Dr. Ali Najeeb highlighted the importance of having a good relationship with the alumni of the College. He mentioned that this relationship can benefit both the current students and the community. The newly elected President of VCAA, Azra Naseem reiterated the importance of the relationship between the College and its Alumni in her remarks. Furthermore, she stated that it is important for the Alumni Association to contribute to the current goals of the College and the community as well. Azra noted that she and her team are excited for the challenges ahead and emphasised on the work planned ahead by the newly elected executive committee. The Villa College Alumni Association was first introduced in 2018, and this is only the second executive committee of the association. Although, the VC Alumni Association has already conducted some successful events throughout the past two years with "Hingaa Dhimaavelan Dho?" Maahefun and Tech Time with Maama and Kaafa, being notable highlights.
