Villa College Kicks Off 2025 Academic Year with Lecturer’s Orientation

Villa College commenced the January 2025 academic term with an energizing Lecturer’s Orientation, uniting all Deans, Heads of Departments, academic staff, and visiting lecturers at the Villa College, QI Campus Main Hall. The event underscored the institution’s commitment to academic excellence and collaborative readiness, setting a proactive tone for the year ahead.


The orientation served as a vital platform for aligning our entire faculty with updated academic standards, institutional expectations, and the latest innovative teaching strategies. Through interactive sessions, our team explored curriculum advancements, effective student engagement methods, and best practices for resource-sharing. This ensures a unified and impactful approach to delivering transformative learning experiences for all Villa College students. Our visiting lecturers, in particular, expressed appreciation for the event, highlighting its role in helping them connect with Villa College’s culture and providing them with valuable tools to help empower their students’ success.


The day featured compelling presentations from key figures at Villa College, including Moosa Mohamed Manik, Director of the Institute for Academic Development, Margret Vijay, Director of the Centre for Open and Distance Learning (CODL), and Ahmed Yasir, Head of Learning Support at the Institute for Academic Development. These leaders shared their cutting-edge insights on current educational trends, the latest in technology integration, and the importance of inclusive pedagogical practices.


A key highlight of the orientation was the address by our Vice Rector, Dr. Ali Najeeb. His steadfast leadership and visionary guidance continue to drive Villa College’s academic excellence. In his opening remarks, Dr. Najeeb emphasized the importance of adaptability, innovation, and the shared responsibility of nurturing our students’ potential. This powerful message set an inspiring and motivational tone for the entire day.


The presence of Villa College's leadership team, including our esteemed Rector, Dr. Ahmed Anwar, further emphasized the institution's commitment to a unified vision for academic excellence.
