Villa College conducted its quarterly staff gathering on the 18th December 2023 at the main hall, marked by a Staff Development Talk, the introduction of new initiatives, employee recognitions, reflections of staff performance appraisal process, overall feedback on staff promotion application.
The event commenced with a recitation of the Holy Quran by Fathimath Imsha Faiz, Administrative Officer, Faculty of Educational Studies setting a solemn tone for the proceedings. Master of Ceremony Dhayana Hassan, Student Relations Officer, then extended a warm welcome, expressing gratitude for the unwavering dedication of the staff and the Executive team in ensuring an exceptional experience at Villa College.
The highlight of the gathering was the enlightening Staff Development Café Talk, featuring the highly esteemed Mr. Ahmed Afaal, Managing Director of ADK, bringing forth over 30 years of invaluable experience in healthcare management. Mr. Afaal delved into the intricate relationship between staff well-being and organizational productivity with a meticulous analysis of sick leave data underscored the quantifiable impact of health on collective effectiveness.
In recognition of his contributions, Rector Dr. Ahmed Anwar presented Mr. Afaal with a certificate of appreciation.
Vice-Rector Dr. Ali Najeeb delivered a concise presentation on Performance Appraisal, emphasizing the institution's commitment to evaluating and acknowledging the valuable contributions of the staff.
The meeting welcomed 22 new staff members who joined between August and December 2023. Each new member briefly introduced themselves, fostering a sense of community and inclusivity.
Our Deputy Vice Rector, Administration and Finance Abdul Munnim Mohamed Manik, announced the recipients of the Employee of the Month awards, recognizing outstanding contributions from February to October 2023.

The event further included the presentation of certificates to newly appointed Assistant Professors by Deputy Vice Rector, Academic and Students and insights into the results of the Employee Satisfaction Survey by Ms. Aishath Fiureen Mohamed, Senior HR Executive.
Appointed Assistant Professors:
Dr. Ahmed Ali Didi provided a succinct presentation on Promotion Applications for the year 2023, and Dr. Aishath Nasheedha showcased VCARE , the upcoming launch of the Counselling & Psychotherapy Centre, and how staff can benefit from the initiative.
Rector Dr. Ahmed Anwar concluded the meeting with final remarks, summarizing key points and expressing gratitude for the collective efforts of the staff. The event culminated in a cherished Villa College tradition – a group photo of all staff members, symbolizing the unity and spirit of the institution.
