The objectives of the programme is to equip the learners with the understanding of the duties and responsibilities of a criminal investigator together with a basic understanding of the laws governing investigative practices, procedures and operations. In addition the programmes teaches the learners the use of the correct analytical application of the laws to solve straightforward problems related to criminal investigations and draw conclusions in lieu of the laws. The programme also covers the standards and procedures one has to follow when undertaking criminal investigation and aims to prepare responsible investigators who would contribute to the future development of the field.
General Entry Criteria
Completion of Basic Education (Key Stage 2 / Grade 6) OR
Attainment of a Level 2 qualification
Alternative Entry Criteria
18 years of age AND
Ability to communicate in the language of instruction.

Upon successful completion of this programme participants will be able to:

Examine the standard procedures for crime investigations.
