Master of International Hospitality Management is an interdisciplinary, problem-solving programme which combines critical thinking, analytical skills and judgement with skill and knowledge in areas of Hospitality Management. The programme will actively stimulate students to explore the latest developments of the discipline through the encouragement of critical judgement, the application of academic rigour and research.
General Entry Criteria
A recognized Bachelor’s degree in the field/related fields or different fields with a minimum CGPA score of 2.50 or equivalent. Applicants with degrees not in the field/related field are required to complete a bridging module/completion of the MQA-approved Pre-Master’s Program prior to joining the programme, OR
A Bachelor's degree in the field/ related fields with a 2.00 CGPA < 2.50, recognized by the Malaysian or National Government, AND
a minimum of 5 years of related work experience. Applicants with degrees not in the field/related field are required to complete a bridging module/completion of the MQA-approved Pre-Master’s Program prior to joining the programme, OR
A Graduate Diploma at Level 8 in the related field

Upon successful completion of this programme participants will be able to;
Make use of research methods including scientific method, literature review, sampling, statistics, research design and analytical techniques to provide in-depth knowledge for informed decision-making.
Evaluate the functions of human resource management, with special attention to strategic human resource alliances and developing trends.
Differentiate cultural differences associated with work in different hospitality sectors and between countries.
Stimulate change in response to current and future developments in organisations operating in the hospitality industry.
Assess financial and revenue-related information for executive decision-making in the hospitality industry.
Design marketing and advertising systems for hospitality industries based on the need to create new markets and the need to respond to significant shifts in social and economic patterns.
Formulate service delivery systems by examining service marketing and management concepts relevant to the hospitality industry.
Evaluate mechanisms and techniques employed in the management of hotel management, convention and meetings management, or food service management.
Demonstrate higher-level skills in relation to strategy formulation in the global hospitality context.
Develop strategies to address the challenges of the specific problem(s) in hospitality management on basis of interest and preparation and apply this to their current work environment.
Hypothesize a problem/issue related to the Hospitality industry and conduct independent research.
Demonstrate competency in professional knowledge and skills in the field of hospitality to continuously progress on their own with a high degree of autonomy to do so.
