This programme is designed for health professionals, to develop their skills and knowledge in public health and research. It prepares participants for advancement in the health sector, providing with practical skills in planning and conducting research. The students may come from a variety of fields, including medicine, primary health care, nursing, psychology, physiotherapy, pharmacy, dentistry, biomedical and lab-based sciences, nutrition, occupational therapy, occupational health, environmental health, health promotion, health management, health informatics, and other relevant areas. Graduates may work in a number of fields, including health administration, health protection and health promotion. They may work in the public sector or with non-government organisations, such as the Heart Foundation, the Cancer Council, Red Cross, research institutes, universities and with international bodies like the World Health Organization. This course helps students to pursue a research master’s degree in public health.
